Doctoral Researcher/ Creative Director

I am a Postgraduate Doctoral Researcher with the field of Industrial Design and a Creative Director / Co-Founder at Cintel Global. Currently researching the integrated use of Motion Capture and Photogrammetry to recreate history on behalf of UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC). Cintel Global is a multi-disciplinary Creative Tech studio that works within the realms of Immersive Technology, Video Production, Animation, Software Development & Interior Design in order to create content and experiences. In the past I have worked locally, regionally, nationally and internationally in a variety of roles such as Filmmaker, Artist, Editor, Photographer, Designer & Consultant. I am currently based in Proto: The Emerging Tech Centre in Gateshead. The first digital production facility of its kind in Europe and one of the biggest R&D Centres for emerging technology, it is also home to the North East & Tees Valley Immersive Lab (one of only four in the UK), PROTO is also part of the Digital Catapult NETV network. This provides access to the latest production techniques, hardware & cutting edge tech. Myself and my fellow Cintel Global co-director, Tom Scarborough, are the only individuals from a LTD Company trained & authorised in the use of both the Photogrammetry & Motion Capture Rigs at Proto. I have worked with and helped successfully deliver projects for partners including – Newcastle University, Northumbria University, NHS, VRTGO, Arts Council England, Gateshead Council, University of York, Sheffield Hallam, STEM Science Learning Centre, Isle of Mann Festival of Steam, Thinking Digital, The National Lottery, GEOTN, BBC, CBBC. I graduated from Northumbria University with a 1st Class hons in Film & TV production in 2017. My graduation film “The Journey”, which told the story of an east African migrants over 2,500 mile journey to the U.K, won the award for Best Cinematography. As a result of this I was the first and only Film & TV Production graduate granted residence in Northumbria’s Fine Art Grad Studio.
