e.goldsmith@northumbria.ac.uk

Emma Jane Goldsmith is a fashion academic specialising in womenswear, cut construction and surface embellishment.

Her practice identifies, reimagines and reinterprets archival narratives into fashion objects, garments and accessories. Her latest work links with North East legacy archives.

Object-research alongside ethnographic methodology discovers and investigates why our connections to certain objects and materials are binding and how can we use this force intuitively when designing and making contemporary work.
