Catherine Glover\u00a0is Programme Leader of Master of Research Design in the School of Design and of Master of Arts Luxury Brand Management (Amsterdam). She lectures on sustainability, responsible design, research methods, fashion public relations, brand strategy, storytelling, journalism, brand copywriting, editorial publishing and activism. Her educational interests are \u2018flipped teaching\u2019, running \u2018live\u2019 collaborative briefs with industry partners (international brands and social enterprises), engaging students with issues and values-based communication, and teaching skills and techniques that can engender positive social change. As a fashion researcher, her specialism is transnational storytelling and how social and brand communities enact story processes that inspire grassroots action, employing narrative inquiry as the principal methodology. She has published articles on the luxury brand Rapha, Harris Tweed, the Tweed Run, sustainable fashion, and her role as a\u00a0madoguchi<\/i>\u00a0reporting on British fashion, craft, design and architecture for avant-garde Japanese publication,\u00a0Hanatsubaki<\/i>. Prior to academia, Catherine worked for fifteen years in industry as a luxury fashion PR, design journalist, copyeditor, and editorial coordinator in arts publishing. Her links with industry continue to inform both research projects and research-led teaching, through \u2018live\u2019 collaborative projects with professional brand partners and social initiatives.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Catherine is currently developing research as part of her PhD. Past research has been published in the\u00a0Critical Journal of Fashion and Beauty\u00a0<\/i>(11.1),\u00a0International Journal of Fashion\u00a0<\/i>(4.2),\u00a0Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management<\/i>\u00a0(22.1) and\u00a0Understanding Luxury Fashion: From Emotions to Brand Building<\/i>\u00a0(Palgrave Macmillan, eds. Cantista and S\u00e1bada, 2019). She has presented her research to peer and industry audiences, including at the Global Fashion Conference 2016, 2018, 2020 and Nostalgia: 2nd Global Inclusive Interdisciplinary Conference. She is currently researching into stories, nostalgia and clothing, the paradoxical nature of fashion and sustainability, and writing and publishing autobiographical fashion poetry.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
