BLACK BOX3 at 4th Floor Ellison Lab
CNoS and Northumbria University Department of Applied Sciences are delighted to announce the opening of a new permanent gallery space on the 4th Floor of Ellison Lab, Northumbria University to coincide with Institutional Fieldworking:CNoS@10, an exciting programme of events taking placeĀ in November 2023.
Converting the space of two former display cabinets into a gallery and screen-based platform, BLACK BOX3 will showcase contemporary creative works at the intersection of art and science. Three ‘black boxes’ in the form of two wall recesses and one screen allow for small-scale curated exhibitions as part of CNoS’ ongoing research. Video and audio works are also hosted here on the CNoS website.
The inaugural exhibition for BLACK BOX3 is a presentation of research in progress by Louise Mackenzie, in collaboration with Jessica Sample, Gina Abdelaal, Maria Crespo Cuadrado and Marcin Klotarz. Outputs form part of the short research residency, Working Together, supported by CNoS and Northumbria University’s Department of Applied Sciences.
