Derianna Thomas
Doctoral Researcher
I am a PhD student in CoCreate, and have previously studied BSc Mathematics and Psychology and MSc Computer Games Engineering at Newcastle University, where I had an interest in using games for learning, and moved towards creating experiences in virtual reality. My PhD research focuses on the design and uses of wearable augmented reality devices, how we can use these for everyday activities, and how we can make these accessible for users with disabilities. I am also the current PGR Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead, where I work with the Students’ Union to improve wellbeing events and resources for PGR students.
