Transformative Justice & Buildings for Women

The 'ideal' women's building - based on the imaginations and creations of women who participated in the 'Transformative Justice for Women' creative workshops, supporting women through Women's buildings

Project summary

This project considers the transformative work of women’s buildings across the UK. Drawing on visits to women’s organisations, interviews with leaders and collage workshops with women, it considers how these organisations can create transformative, healing spaces for restoration, recovery and growth, supporting women in all areas of their lives, supporting women through women’s buildings.

The project is based on the principles of transformative justice and decarceral feminist politics, and views these buildings as part of the move towards a society without prisons.
