Working documents & briefing notes
A series of working papers will be produced after the network’s first three events (focused on LGBT+, dis/ability and race respectively). These will identify the most pressing issues effecting sports media in the relevant area as agreed through workshop discussions involving the attending academic and non-academic participants. Press releases and briefing notes summarising the contents of the working documents will also be produced after each of these events. Interim & final reports
The briefing notes will be the bases for the network’s interim and final reports – which will be listed here. The final report will be a resource that will provide recommendations and guidance for current professional practice in the area. The report will also devote space detailing practical recommendations for academics working in the field of sports journalism. These latter recommendations will facilitate research-informed teaching, therefore impacting upon pedagogical practice and giving those entering the profession in forthcoming years the insight and skills to navigate the issues addressed in the report.
