Andrew Richardson
Senior Lecturer
I have a background in design and interactive technology. My practice-based research centres around the exploration and use of creative technologies, especially open source environments, within the context of creative practice. I explore the use of code as a way of making and have particular interest in developing novel, visual expressions of data into digital and physical objects and environments; for example exploring ways of translating data from movement and sound into visual and physical forms. Recent projects include an interactive, text-based, visualisation map of Wordsworth’s poetry connected with the landscape of the Lake District and Snowdonia. Current work continues to examine of the visualisation (mapping) of literary text within landscapes, alongside the use of AR and VR as a means of visualising data located to place and space.
